the implicit order

The Implicit Order is Anthony Washburn, occasionally with other collaborators. He lives in Kentucky, USA, and was very active in the cassette underground of the 1990s. The Implicit Order's FaceBook page.

Historically, the Implicit Order started in 1989 as a Mail Art project and by the early 1990's it developed into a full time musical project incorporating many of the early Industrial/Experimental ideas of the late 70's, 1980's and beyond. The band always tried to inject a sense of the Occult, humor and an off-kilter view into the image and recordings. The Implicit Order was active in the Cassette Culture of the 1990's up to 2001, releasing several tapes through the limited tape-trading distribution of the cassette underground, including "Compiled", "They Live in the Sky", and "Psychic and Noetic Action", all out of print. They also released a CD on Belgium's EE Tapes (still available) called "Ethric Doubles", and a highly recommended collaborative CD release with 'kirchenkampf' on Cohort Records (also still available).

CURRENTLY AVAILABLE: Vuzh Music has re-released a collaboration between the Implicit Order and C. Reider from 1998 called "Opposing Theories". There is also a 2008 recording called "Disposable Outcome, and a re-release of the 1997 cassette classic "They Live in the Sky. All are available for FREE DOWNLOAD

You could also check out the three disc various artists compilation "The More Unknown C. Reider", to which IO contributed a great track.

The Implicit Order also has music on the three way split CD "Triple Occupancy", still available through this site, (find it in the 'Items for Sale' section of the Front page of this website
